"Vigilance Awareness Week" starts at CCL

Vigilance Awareness Week-2016 (31st October- 5th November) on the theme "Public Participation in Promoting Integrity and eradicating Corruption" saw a glittering start  on Monday the 31st October, with Sri Gopal Singh, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, CCL  getting the pledge administered to all its employees including FDs and CVO at its headquarters, Darbhanga House. In addition to CCL headquarters, Vigilance Awareness Week also began in all Areas and independent establishments of CCL. 

Sri Gopal Singh, CMD addressing the employees, stressed on the importance of integrity and transparency in all spheres of our activities and work unstintingly for eradication of corruption. He said that this pledge is followed in letter and spirit by the employees of CCL and as result CCL is one of the best known subsidiary of Coal India. He asked everyone to continue their work with integrity, transparency and accountability and to also promote these values among people around us. These values define CCL and helped CCL to achieve new heights with each passing year.

On the occasion message of H'ble President, Prime Minister and Vice- President was read by Sri D K Ghosh, Director (Finance), Sri Subir Chandra, Director (Tech/Oprns), Sri R S Mahapatro, Director (Pers.) respectively.

CVO, CCL Sri Arbind Prasad, while reading out the message of CVC, said that any mission to curb corruption and promote ethical values in our system cannot be accomplished without active support and participation of each and every citizen of this great country, therefore CVC has chosen the theme “Public participation in promoting Integrity and eradicating Corruption” this year. He also informed about the various events and programme that will be organized during the week to take the message to the public. Detailing on the activities, he said that Commission has envisaged a concept of “Integrity Pledge” to enlist support and commitment of the citizens and organizations for upholding the highest standards of ethical conduct, honesty and integrity. The link of the pledge is available on the www.cvc.nic.in and also on pledge.cvc.nic.in. Every Indian citizen can and shall take the pledge, he reiterated. CVC will be issuing a certificate also, to everyone who has taken the "Integrity –Pledge". He also informed that where there is lack of web access to the public especially in rural areas, a provision of “Mass-Pledge” has been made. He added that as a public servant it is imperative for all the CCL employees to contribute in the Vigilance Awareness Week.

On the occasion a Street Play/Nukkad- Natak named "Mangra Ka Retirement" was staged by the CCL employees depicting the ill effects of system corruption with a message that ethical values like integrity, transparency, objectivity, honesty is must for the development of a Company, State and Nation. CMD Shri Gopal Singh also flagged off the “Vigilance Awareness March” from Darbhanga House to Jawahar Nagar, in which Directors, CVO joined the employees to promote awareness among the public.
