The route of Coal India Marathon-2024 is now officially certified by the International body of marathon Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS)

The Coal India Marathon is an annual event organized by Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) on behalf of Coal India Limited at Ranchi, aiming to promote health, fitness, and community engagement. It is the only registered Marathon with Athletics Federation of India being organised in Jharkhand. Its primary objective is to encourage a healthy lifestyle among employees, their families, and the broader community.
The marathon also serves as a platform to raise awareness about environmental sustainability and the importance of responsible coal mining practices.
