CCL Vigilance had organized one day seminar on "BID RIGGING AND COMPETITION" on 21.02.2011, wherein the dignitaries on dais were the CMD,CCL, CVO, CCL and Sri Manoj Pandey, Additional Director General CCI (Competition Commission of India). The aforesaid informative seminar session was organized by the Vigilance department of CCL under the guidance of CVO CCL for enhancement of knowledge and awareness standards of executives of the Company regarding basics of tendering and biddings as a part of preventive vigilance. The above seminar was attended by around 200 executives of different disciplines, posted in HQ and different Areas/units of CCL.

Sri Manoj Pandey, Additional Director General CCI delivered the key talk. He shared with the audiences vital and crucial informational pertaining to Bid Rigging. On the prelude, he introduced the Commission CCI which was relatively new and unknown for majority of the gathering. The Competition Act 2002 was briefly discussed and the motive behind establishment of Competition Commission of India was elaborated which itself illuminated the topic of the day and then the focal theme of "Bid rigging and competition" was deliberated in detail and a healthy bilateral discussion also took place. Several indicative features giving automated indication about involvement of Bid Rigging in a bidding process and certain vital techniques to evaluate the said indicative rigging was discussed at length. Certain features of latest software like BAMS which are capable of detecting rigging and cartels were also told to the audiences.

The lecture Session was followed by a very vibrant interactive session which cleared many doubts of the audiences. During interactive session many questions were raised by GM (MM), Chief of Security and other executives of CCL pertaining to Bid Rigging and Cartel formation which were replied by the key speaker Sri MK Pandey, CMD, CCL and CVO,CCL.
