Independence Day celebrated in Central Coalfields Limited with zeal and fervor

Chairman-cum-managing Director, Central Coalfields Limited Shri Gopal Singh on Saturday hoisted the National Flag on premises of the Convention Center, New Building ,CCL Headquarters(Darbhanga House), Ranchi and wished everybody present on the occasion. 74th Independence Day was celebrated with zeal and fervor at CCL, a subsidiary of Coal India. The ceremony was attuned according to the Covid-19 times and measures like Social distancing, sanitization etc. were observed. Director(Tech/Oprs) Shri V.K Shrivastava, Director (P&P) Shri Bhola Singh, Director (Fin) Shri N.K. Agarwal along with various General Managers, Head of departments and other dignitaries graced the occasion. Everybody, who was present followed the rules of social distancing and other guidelines of the government. Live broadcast of the celebration was carried on official YouTube channel, Facebook page and twitter handles of the company through which employees and the stakeholders of the company joined the celebrations.
CMD, Shri Singh in his address expressed his gratitude towards the martyred freedom fighters and paid them condolences on behalf of the entire CCL family. Shri Singh stated that everyone should resolve to work collectively to fulfill the dreams of the freedom fighters and contribute in the country’s development. Shri Singh said that when the entire world is battling the Covid pandemic, it is the blessings of our ancestors and freedom fighters that are propelling country’s fight against this pandemic. Shri Singh stated that CCL has left no stone unturned to support the government in its war against pandemic. The two hospitals of the company at Gandhinagar and Ramgarh have been converted to Covid centers and the recovery rate of the Covid patients in these hospitals is almost hundred percent. He applauded the doctors, paramedical staff, sanitary workers and all the other frontline Covid warriors for their service to the humanity.
He mentioned that even during the lockdown period the employees of the company relentlessly produced coal and it is because of the contributions of these Coal warriors that there is no scarcity of coal in the power plants of the country. He said out of every 10 bulbs lighted in country 7 of them use coal as their energy source. He told that the company has charted out strategy to increase to 207 Million Tonnes in coming years. He stated that the Ecological parks of the company whose foundation stone was laid by the Honorable home minister will have a Divyang Centre, children park and Kayakalp school as its components.
In his speech Shri Singh went in details about the various C.S.R schemes of the company. He said the members of CCL family distributed 490 quintals of dry food packets in their operational area to ensure that nobody should sleep hungry. He further stated that the company distributed around 35000 masks, 3000 bottles of sanitizers and carried out many other welfare activities in collaboration with the local administration for the benefit of the people. Shri Singh told that the company contributed Rs 20 crore to Jharkhand state disaster management fund and further Rs 20 lakhs were given to the respective district administrations of its command area.
In his speech Shri Singh mentioned in details about the 34383 students studying in the 59 schools operated by the company, CCL ke Laal and Laadli scholarship scheme, sports academy and other CSR initiatives of the company. He informed that an MOU has been signed between the company and Jharkhand Government under which 14000 villagers living in 17 villages of Ramgarh district will be supplied water through the mines operating in Kuju area. He mentioned that in last five years the company has carried plantation of more that 5.5 lakh saplings in 230 hectares of land. In the Van Mahotsav celebrated this year, the company distributed 1 lakh fruit bearing saplings.
“Kayakalp” magazine honoring the contribution of the Covid warriors of the company was launched by the honorable chief guest and the directors of the company. Director (Pers) CCL/ECL Shri Vinay Ranjan expressed happiness on the successful launch of the magazine and hailed the contribution of the company’s Covid warriors as well as PR Department. Ten security personals were honoured for their outstanding contribution at the end of the program.
