CMD CCL appeals to workers to resume work

Sri Gopal Singh, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, Central Coalfields Ltd(CCL) has again appealed to its workers to remain abstain from the ongoing strike for development of the coal industry as well as Nation as a whole. He also thanked them for responding positively to his appeal and working for self-reliant in energy sector with objective to reduce coal import in future.   
Sri Gopal Singh further requested to resume your duties at your respective workplaces without any further delay for ensuring normal production and dispatch. He reiterated that none of the mines of auction is of Coal India or its subsidiaries including CCL.  
Coal India trade unions has started their a three-day strike (2-4 July) against the government’s decision to allow commercial coal mining and other issues.
Government’s recent announcement to permit coal mining for commercial sale marks a fundamental shift in the government policy to address the shortfall in domestic coal production to meet the country’s requirements.
The need of coal for the development of the country is increasing rapidly. According to an estimate, the country will need about 2000 million tonnes (MT) of coal by the year 2030.
