Central Coalfields Limited continues the good Samaritan work
Food Packets and Water bottles distributed at Hatia Station to returning migrants.
Area- Headquarter, Posted on- 10-06-2020
The unrelenting wave of Covid -19 pandemic has brought the entire country together and everybody is attempting to assist the people in distress. A nationwide lockdown was imposed to control the spread of the virus. Migrant workers from Jharkhand, who were stranded during the lockdown at Tamil Nadu, returned to their native place in Dhanbad via Hatia Railway Station on a Shramik Special train. Hundreds of migrant workers with their families boarded the train at Erode station in Tamil Nadu to reach Dhanbad.
The central Government is continuously running Shramik Trains for the migrants to return to their respective states including Jharkhand.
After travelling the long distance when the train reached Hatia railway station at 7.27 am on 10th June morning the employees of Central Coalfields Limited were waiting for them with food packets and water bottles.
Around 2400 food packets and 2400 water bottles were distributed among the migrants on the train with the support of the railway administration.
CCL has been constantly distributing food packets and water bottles in the Shramik special trains arriving in the state and over 10,000 food packets and 10,000 water bottles have been distributed so far.
CCL under the leadership of CMD, Shri Gopal Singh has been conscious of its responsibility towards the society and is undertaking various welfare schemes for convenience of the people of the State. The company in its eight operational districts is continuously providing food packets, dry ration and operating community kitchens for the destitute villagers, migrant workers and others with a zeal to fulfill its mission that nobody should sleep hungry during these challenging times.
CMD Shri Singh reiterated that their priority is to help the needy and mitigate the disastrous impact on the poverty-stricken section of the society and CCL is trying utmost to ensure that all the essential facilities are available for the people of the State.
CCL under the directive of Director (Personal) Shri Vinay Ranjan is committed to support the migrant workers arriving from different states to their home districts in Jharkhand and the distribution of the food packets and water bottles at Hatia, Ranchi and Barkakana railway station is organised to fulfill this objective.
Shri Ranjan said that the company under CSR is implementing various welfare initiatives for the benefit of the community.
In the four hospitals, run by the company at Ranchi, Dakra, Ramgarh and Bokaro, they have set 180 beds isolation wards up for Covid patients. Currently Covid patients are undergoing treatment at the Central Hospital Ramgarh. The Covid patients admitted at the CCL Gandhinagar hospitals have undergone successful treatment and have been released. This speaks volumes about the effort of the medical team of the company.
