3 ICU Ventilators arrive CCL Gandhinagar Hospital to fight against Corona pandemic

Giving top priority to fight against the Coronavirus pandemic and save life of affected persons in Jharkhand, Central Coalfields Ltd(CCL), a subsidiary of Coal India, has procured three(3) additional ICU Ventilators, the medical devices that help patients breathe, for saving lives of  severe Covid-19 patients if required during the treatment. The company has also placed order for procuring more four (4)  portable ventilators that can be used in ambulance and hospital both. Presently, Gandhinagar Hospital is equipped with single ventilator.

The installation work of ICU Ventilators will complete on the priority basis so that the life saving equipment could be utilized at the earliest.

CCL has also procured about 3100 PPE for keeping doctors, healthcare workers and other frontline staff safe. CCL had already distributed about 1,32,245 masks among its stakeholders including needy section of the society.

In addition to CCL Gandhinagar Hospital, other three central hospitals of the Company are ready to deal with both the suspected and confirmed cases of highly contagious virus. These hospitals of CCL have beds with assured oxygen support, basic life support Ambulances with sufficient oxygen support 24 x 7 and other facilities.

Under the guidance of Chairman cum Managing Director (CMD), CCL, Gopal Singh, the medical team is working hard to overcome the unprecedented crisis due to Covid-19. Earlier, he had expressed deepest gratitude to the “Corona warriors”, “frontline workers” and other stakeholders, who are directly and indirectly working to save the life of affected persons.

CMS, CCL Hospitals Dr. CP Dham said that three ICU ventilators have reached Gandhinagar Hospital and installation work to be begin shortly. He further said that in severe Covid-1- patients, the virus causes damage to the lungs, causing the body's oxygen levels to drop and making it harder to breathe and to alleviate this, a ventilator is used to push air, with increased levels of oxygen, into the lungs of patients.

CMS, Dr Manju Mishra, is acting as a nodal officer of Gandhinagar Hospital and the dedicated medical team is working under her guidance and supervision.
