Ensuring safety, Coal India is committed to energize Nation- Chairman, CIL

Shri Pramod Agarwal after assuming charge as the new Chairman and Managing Director of Coal India visited Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) situated in Ranchi, Jharkhand on Tuesday. Shri Agarwal, a 1991 batch IAS Officer, presided a review meeting of CCL. Prior to it, he addressed the employees of company as well as stakeholders.
The new chairman paid tributes to the coal miners who laid down their lives in mine accidents at Shaheed Ashmarak, Darbhanga House. He was also given guard of honor.
Shri Gopal Singh, CMD, CCL, Shri Vinay Dayal, Director (tech./Oprns), Coal India, Shri V K Srivastava, Director Technical (Oprns), Shri Bhola Singh, Director Technical (P&P) Shri NK Agarwal Director (Fin), Shri Vinay Ranjan, Director (Pers), CVO Shri A.K. Srivastava, Shri M.K Singh TS to CIL Chairman, representative/members of JCSC, Welfare Board, Safety Board, Area GMs, GMs/HODs from headquarters and others were present to grace the occasion.
While addressing the gathering at packed new auditorium, Shri Pramod Agarwal said that the company is committed to meet energy requirement of the country. He reiterated that the safety and welfare of the workforce is the topmost priority of the company.
Shri Pramod Agarwal said the government is extending all possible helps to Coal India and its subsidiary companies so that the company is strengthened in the large interest of the country.
He further emphasized that the satisfaction of the consumers is paramount and it is the responsibility of the company to ensure that the demands of the various sectors is fulfilled. The new chairman ensured that he is committed to work with dedication as a member of coal family.
Shri Gopal Singh, CMD, CCL in his power point presentation during the review meeting briefed the new chairman about the immediate, short term and long term planning of the company. He narrated how the production of the company was stagnated (48 MT in 2012-13) and later picked up double digit growth and is currently heading towards the exclusive 100 MT club.
