CCL organizes seminar on water conservation in coal mines Water is climate, climate is water-Waterman of India

Central Coalfields Limited, a subsidiary of Coal India, on Saturday organized a seminar on “ water conservation in coal mines” to sensitize the employees as well as stakeholders at new auditorium, Darbhanga House, Ranchi.
Chief Guest of the function was winner of Magsaysay Award Shri Rajendra Singh, who is known for his work to revive water bodies and rivers in Rajashthan. On this occasion, CMD, CCL Shri Gopal Singh, Director (Tech/Oprns) Shri V K Srivastava, Director Technical (P&P) Shri Bhola Singh, Director(Finance) Shri N K Agarwal, HOD(Forest) Shri Soumitra Singh, eminent journalist Shri Madhukar, General Managers/HODs from headquarters, union representatives and other stakeholders were present.
While addressing the gathering, Shri Rajendra Singh said that it is very important to respect water, women and rivers to save the mother Earth planet. Shri Singh, who is dubbed as “ the Water Man of India” said that it is important to understand how water is climate and climate is water, then, only we can save water for future generations.
Shri Singh also emphasized that Coal India is one of the most reputed companies and he urged the management of the company that it is important to make strategy on technical approaches and upending traditional patterns of development and resource use.
CMD CCL Shri Gopal Singh in address said that the eminent water conservationist with his own methods have able to restore soil, rivers, brought back wildlife etc. in Rajasthan. He further said that company is carrying out mining activities to meet energy requirement of the Nation as seven bulbs out of ten bulbs are generated from power plants. CMD said that water literary programme will be initiated to sensitize the common people. He also talked about support from Hon’ble Union Coal Minister and his team for meeting energy requirement of the country.
