CCL sets new benchmarks with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 CertificationBecomes first company in Jharkhand to achieve this feat
Area- Headquarter, Posted on- 21-02-2019
Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) has been certified under ISO 9001: 2015 (Quality Management System), ISO 14001: 2015 (Environmental Management System) and OHSAS 18001: 2007 (Security Management System).
CCL has been given ISO certification under the Integrated Management System in three parameters, i.e., ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001. Under this open mines, workshops, washeries, hospitals and mines rescue stations, including headquarter is also certified. It is also first time in Coal India and it's subsidiaries that washeries has been included in the certification. ISO 9001 certification is awarded for quality, ISO 14001 for Environment, OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System.
CCL has received the above certificates for compliance with the international standards, making it the first company in Jharkhand to achieve this feat. This certification will add towards the focus of the company towards quality, environment, vocational health and safety, thus giving the leverage to the process of continuous improvement and innovation. It needs to be noted that as per this International Certification, the designated body will continuously monitor the certified process and units of the company through regular audits. This highest certification of its own kind has not only added another feather in the crown of CCL but also set a benchmark for other organisations to follow, particularly in Jharkhand.
Jharkhand under the leadership of its CM, Shri Raghubar Das has made it's mark across country and among the foreign investors for its pro industry policies and good governance. The motivatiing guidance of our honorable Rail & Coal Minister Shri Piyush Goyal has helped us to lay a strong foundation, which has pushed CCL to break one record after another, in last 4 years. Our commitment to "Power for All" will certainly get a boost with this certification.
It needs to be noted that CCL, under the able leadership of CMD Shri Gopal Singh, with production of 41.65 MT coal, has registered 12% in coal production in the first three quarters of current in comparison to the corresponding period in last FY and simultaneously registered an increase of 8% in coal dispatch. In the current fiscal (2018-19), till January 31, 2019, the company has produced 48.5 Million Tonnes (MT) coal, which is 5.6 MT (13%) more than the corresponding period of the previous financial year.
In the recent years, CCL management led by CMD CCL Shri Singh has put special emphasis on infrastructure, commencement of ambitious Greenfield projects which have been stuck for years and expansion of existing ones, whose positive outcome have started to flow now. Its live example can be seen in whopping growth in coal production in the first month of 2019 itself. The very foundation of this sustained increased growth, have been led by CCL, under the guidance of Hon'ble Union Railway, Finance and Coal Minister, Shri Piyush Goyal, with unrelenting support of Hon'ble Chief Minister, Jharkhand Shri Raghubar Das and in the leadership of CMD, CCL. The benefit of this have reached thermal power plants in form of quality and abundant coal supply and reaped by common citizens with unabated power supply at reduced rates. In the last five years, CCL has initiated various projects to develop infrastructures, build railway sidings for coal dispatch, acquired land for Greenfield projects and other efforts which has not only benefited the citizens at large but also given the impetus to the country’s resurgent economy. This campaign to provide electricity to the each and every household by the government of India i.e. "Power for All", which was conceptualized by our Hon’ble Prime Minister, has a determined support and herculean effort from CCL to make it a ground reality and the company will continue to play its pivotal role through bolstered coal production and dispatch.
The International Standardization Organization (ISO) awards quality standard certification after thorough inquiry of any company's product, process both for various features such as quality, customer satisfaction, purity and management system etc.
Under the stewardship of Shri Gopal Singh, CCL has seen long lasting transformational changes, motivated employees, planned, executed and completed projects and many more ground breaking feats. These all could be achieved because of adoption of KayaKalp Model of Governance which lays emphasis on the followings:
Transparent, bold, ethical and philanthropic approach
Training and Development of Sub-ordinates
Discipline Enforcement
Innovation, Automation - State of the Art Technology
Democratic planning - Autocratic control
Holistic Development of downtrodden, Villagers, Workers and Downtrodden have been main objective of CCL. We are committed to bring social transformation through our welfare and CSR schemes and are continuously striving for it. Our Honorable Prime Minister has given the motto of ‘सबका साथ सबका विकास’ and every member of the CCL family is contributing to make it true.
