SAI, Ranchi lifts trophy of CCL Kayakalp Invitational Girls Football Tournament

The dominating possession of Sports Authority of India(SAI), Ranchi led their team to lift “1st CCL Kayakalp Football Tournament” by defeating Little Angel, Hatma by 5-1 at Mahatma Gandhi Kridangan, Kande Road, Ranchi today.
Sports Department of CCL has organized 1st CCL Kayakalp Invitational Girls Football Tournament exclusively for budding footballers of Jharkhand under the guidance of CMD, CCL Shri Gopal Singh in which 16 teams have participated from Ranchi and adjoining districts of the state.
The final match started with honouring the Chief Guest Shri R S Mahapatro, Director (Pers), CCL by 11-year-old Khushi Kumari and 8-year-old Swati Kumari. Instead of welcoming the Chief Guest by bouquet and garland, the Chief Guest himself handed school bags to the two girls, who belonged to the underprivileged class, for pursuing study. On this occasion, Shri Bimlendu Kumar, General Manager (Administration & Welfare), Smt. Kiran Divedi, Principal, Vivekanand Vidya Mandir(Dhurwa), Shri Paras Nath Singh, Principal Gyanodaya School, Smt Neeta Pandey, Principal, Cambrian College, representative of trade unions and other dignitaries were present. Shri Adil Hussain, Manager (Sports) and his entire team organized the tournament successfully.
Binita Kerketa of SAI, Ranchi scored the first goal for her team on third minute of the first half and another two goals was scored by her. Similarly Laxmi Kumari of SAI, Ranchi also scored two goals for her team ensuring victory in the tournament. Parnita Tirkey wearing black and green joursey of Little Angel, Hatma scored single goal for her team in second half of the match.
Chief Guest Shri R S Mahapatro thanked each player of 16 teams for participating in the tournament and appreciated them for showing sportsman spirit during the final match. He further said that sports not only consigns a competitive spirit amongst its players but also helps them imbibe a sense of discipline and the ethos of fair play leading to good citizen, which is important in Indian democracy.
Chief Guest and other dignitaries handed over individual as well trophies to winner and runner team of the 1st CCL Kayakalp Invitational Girls Football Tournament. The live football commentary was delivered by Shamim Ahmad, a retired employee of CCL. Shri Harendra Kr Pathak also supported the organizing team for conducting the tournament successfully.
