CMD CCL inaugurates 2nd CCL Inter School Invitational Football Tournament

CMD, CCL ShriGopal Singh on Friday inaugurated Second edition of CCL Inter School Invitational Football Tournament 2018 (5-9th Oct,2018) at Mahatama Gandhi Kridangan, CCL Gandhinagar Colony( Kanke Road). Director (Pers) Shri R S Mahapatro, Deputy Municipal Corporation (RMC) Shri Sanjay Kumar, FIFA Referee Shri Prakash Thakur, General Manager (Welfare) MsRashmi Dayal, GM/TS to Dir(Pers). P. Bhattacharjee, GM (EE) Shri A K Singh, GM(NEE) Smt. Vinita Sharan, Sports(Manager) Adil Hussain and other dignitaries were present to grace the occasion.

Altogether 18 teams are participating in the five-day tournament. These teams are:- W. John Multipurpose High School, RTC School, St. Kuldip High School, Vivekananda Vidya Mandir, Ascot International School, MMK High School, Central Academy, SPVV, Ormanjhi, DAV Nageshwar, International Public School, Cambrian Public School, Sapphire International School, DAV Gandhinagar, Sarla Birla Public School, Rise Academy High School, Idrisia Tanzeem High School, Jharkhand State Sports Promotion Society (JSSPS)  and St. John School.

The participating teams took part in march past in presence of  Chief Guest, Shri Gopal Singh and other dignitaries. A cultural programme too was organized. Chief Guest and others met each player of 18 teams and congratulated them before start of inaugural match between MMK High School and RTC in which later won the match by 1-0. 

Addressing a gathering, Shri Gopal Singh said that the main objective for conducting the tournament is to provide opportunity in the sport field so that the talented players of Jharkhand can get employment in coming days. He further endorsed that Jharkhand is known for hockey but JSSPS (joint venture between CCL and Jharkhand Govt) players are changing this perception. He further added that JSSPS cadets have defeated players of Panjab and Haryana State in the field of wresting and won individual trophy in the national tournament held recently.

Shri R S Mahapatro and Shri Sanjay Kumar- both Guest of Honour  too addressed the gathering and motivated them to show their best skill.  ShriMahapatro said that players are known for dedication, discipline and sincerity which are important attributes to develop society as well as Nation. 

On the first day of much awaited tournament, four matches were played. Second match was played between  DAV Nageswar and International Public School. Players of DAV Nageshwwar netted five goals and won the match. Another tough match was played between W. John Multipurpose High School and Ascot International School and players of both the teams did not manage to score goal. However in the penalty shoot out, Ascot International School won by 3-1. In the last match, Rise Academy High School VsIdrisiaTanzeem High School was played and former won the match by 1-0.
