MPs, MLAs along with hundreds others participate CCL`s `Swachhta Cyclothon`

CMD CCL and others paid floral tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his 150th Birth Anniversary

Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) on Tuesday organized a "Swachhta Cyclothon" in which Hon’ble MPs, MLAs and other stakeholders participated to mark the birth anniversary of “Mahatma Gandhi.” In addition to "Swachhta Cyclothon," a function was held to remember Father of Nation on his 150th birth anniversary at Vichar Manch, Darbhanga House, CCL.

Hon’ble MP (Ranchi) Shri Ram Tahal Chaudhary was present as the Chief Guest of the "Swachhta Cyclothon", which started from CCL headquarters, Darbhanga House and negotiated through Ranchi city and culminated at headquarters. Besides, Hon’ble MP (Rajya Sabha) Shri Mahesh Poddar, Hon’ble MLA (Kanke) Dr. Jitu Charan Ram, Hon’ble MLA (Khijari) Shri Ram Kumar Pahan, CMD, CCL, Shri Gopal Singh, Director (Personnel) Shri RS Mahapatro, Director (Finance) Shri DK Ghosh, Director (Tech/ Opr) Shri A K Mishra, Chief Vigilance Officer Shri AK Srivastava and others including CCL employees and students participated in the cycle rally.

While addressing the gathering, Shri Ram Tahal Chaudhary said that our Hon’ble Prime Minister (PM) had called upon the Nation to come together to realize the dream of Mahatma Gandhi for clean and healthy India. It is a matter of great joy and pride that every citizen of the country is contributing to this campaign, he added. He appreciated the role of CCL management under the able leadership of Shri Gopal Singh as a responsible public sector entity for the development of country in almost every sphere whether it is related to the skill development, sports, education, health etc.

In his address CMD CCL Shri Gopal Singh expressed his gratitude to the Hon’ble PM and said that he not only adopted the dream of Gandhi Ji but has motivated the fellow citizens to own it and take it ahead as a national movement. This campaign has brought awareness regading cleanliness among the common people, he added. He informed that in the last 15 days, CCL has carried out several programs and new initiatives on swacchta. This "Cleanliness Cyclothon" will encourage people towards cleanliness.

Later, addressing the employees during a function to commemorate 150 years of birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Shri Gopal Singh said that this day is an important occasion for the every Indian when we remember not only Mahatma but also his principles and ideologies. He urged everyone to come together to bow down to that Mahatma, remember his thoughts and resolve to fulfill it also. CMD’s address was webcasted across all areas of CCL live.

During the function, Director (Personnel) Shri RS Mahapatro, Director (Finance) Shri DK Ghosh, Director (Tech/ Opr) Shri A K Mishra and Chief Vigilance Officer Shri AK Srivastava addressed the gathering and paid floral tribute to Mahatam Gandhi along with CCL employees.
