A six-day long( 24-29th August) CCL Inter Area Table-Tennis and Badminton Tournament concluded at CCL Gandhinagar Club,KankeRaod, Ranchi on Wednesday.  The mega sports event is organized by Sports Department of Central Coalfields Limited.

More than 107 players of Central Coalfields including female players have participated in a mega sports event.  Players represented 12 areas of CCL viz., Barka- Sayal, CRS Barkakana, Charhi(Hazaribagh), Argada, MRS Ramagarh, Kathara, B&K Kargali, Piparwar, Rajrappa, NK Area, Magadh-Amrapali and CCL Headquarters.

General Manager, Rajrappa Area ShriShriAlok Kumar was the Chief Guest of closing ceremony. General Manager(Legal) Shri P Bhattacharjee,  Sr. Manager(Finance) Shri Sanjay Kumar Singh, Sports Manager AdilHussain and others were present during the function. 

Chief Guest Shri Alok Kumar in his address said that that CCL is known for promoting sports in the country and the present management has taken several measures to promote sports not only among employees but nurturing young talents in rural areas of Jharkhand. He further said that players of Table-Tennis and Badminton have shown their highest level of sportsmen sprit during the final match. He congratulated each player, who participated in different categories in badminton as well as table tennis. Shri Kumar extended his best wishes to the winners as well runners for showing their skill.  

Earlier welcome address was delivered byMsRashimiDayal. She said that players of Table-Tennis and Badminton showcased their best skill during the matches. She further said that the company is committed to promote sports among the employee so that sporting talents among them are nurtured and they can participate in other events too.  Vote of thanks was proposed by Shri Deepak Kumar, HOD(PR), who briefed the contribution of  players of Jharhand in sports domain at national and international level.  He also thanked the organizing committee and others who directly and indirectly associated with organizing the mega sorts event. 

On the occasion of National Sports Day, CCL has organized football match between Ranchi Eleven and Rest of Jharkhand at Gandhinagar Football ground in which former won the trophy by 1-0.
