A six-day long( 24-29th August) CCL Inter Area Table-Tennis and Badminton Tournament began  at CCL Gandhinagar Club, Kanke Raod, Ranchi on Friday.  The  mega sports event is organized by Sports Department of Central Coalfields Limited.

More than 107 players of Central Coalfields including female players are participating in a mega sports event.  Players representing 12 areas of CCL viz., Barka- Sayal, CRS Barkakana, Charhi(Hazaribagh), Argada, MRS Ramagarh, Kathara, B&K Kargali, Piparwar, Rajrappa, NK Area, Magadh-Amrapali and CCL Headquarters are participating the tournament.

Director (personnel) Shri  R S Mahapatro inaugurated the Table-Tennis and Badminton tournament by playing in presence of players, team managers and coaches.  General Manager(Administration) Shri Bimlendu Kumar, General Manager(Legal) Shri P Bhattacharjee, Sports Manager Adil Hussain and others were present during the function. 

Welcoming the players, Shri R S Mahapatro, who was the Chief Guest of the inaugural function, said that the company is committed to promote sports among the employee so that sporting talents among them are nurtured and they can participate in other events.  He also urged the players to show their sportsman sprit while playing along with their teams colleagues.  

Earlier,  General Manager(Welfare) Ms Rashmi Dayal welcomed the players and spoke about importance of sports among the employees of company. She said that sports leads to development of leadership qualities as well as physical strength among the players.

Prabhat Dayal, Munna Prasad, R K Phatak, Amritanshu Kumar, Ravi Parida, Ravi Pradhan, Binay Sharma, Dibyendu Mandal, Randhir Kumar, Suraj Kumar, Sunny Bhengra, R S Mandal, A K Verma,  Avinash Tiwary, A K Chakraborty and others are playing key role in organizing the tournament.
