CMD, CCL conferred with  prestigious `Lifetime Achievement Award`

Shri Gopal Singh, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, Central Coalfields Ltd (CCL), Ranchi was conferred with prestigious "Lifetime Achievement Award 2018" for turnaround of CCL during an inaugural function of two day (28-29 July) National Workshop on “Safety Management of Mining Machinery” at BNR Chanakya, Ranchi(Jharkhand) today. He received the award from the Hon’ble Governor of Jharkhand Smt. Draupadi Murmu, who was the Chief Guest at the event.

The 'Indian Mining and Engineering Journal', is knowledge partner of AKS University of Satna, Madhya Pradesh, which acknowledges and gives award to the industry leaders every year. Dr. G K Pradhan, Convenor of the programme said that Shri Gopal Singh, CMD, CCL has been selected for the "Lifetime Achievement Award 2018" for his outstanding contributions that led to turnaround of the company as well as mining industry as a whole.

While addressing the inauguration function, Shri Gopal Singh said that the mining industry contributes 1.3 percent of the GDP of the country and about 3.7 Million workforce are directly associated with the mining industry. He further said that Jharkhand possesses 40 percent of the total minerals of the county and he suggested that mining industry should be utilized fully for growth of the Nation with the “human face.” 

Over 120 delegates from all over the country are attending the two-day function and over 24 technical papers will be presented and discussed during the seminar. Shri Gopal Singh, CMD, CCL said that the presentation of technical papers by the renowned engineers during the national workshop will act as“road map” for the growth of the mining industry  of our country as a whole.
