The message of "Swacch Bharat and Swastha Bharat" (Clean India and Healthy India) was manifested through colorful, creative, cultural; acts, attire and art by the youths of Jharkhand during the "Swacchtaa Carnival" held at Darbhanga House, Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), Ranchi in the presence of Smt. Droupadi Murmu, Hon’ble Governor, Jharkhand. Students from more than 18 schools and educational institutes participated in the carnival with crisp and clear message of cleanliness. The awareness program was lead by the next-gen i.e. youths of the nation drew praise of everyone including Hon’ble Governr, who graced the event as Chief Guest.

CCL will be the model of "Swacchta", which will be an example for other institutions, Hon’ble Governer said while commending the initiatives of CCL during the "Swacchta Carnival" at Darbhanga House. The mission that Hon’ble Prime Minister has taken up to create "Swacch Bharat" by 2019 i.e. 150th Birth Anniversary  Year of Mahatma Gandhi cannot be achieved without creating awareness among the public. But thanks to the works and initiatives of CCL, who has taken the onus of achieving this goal in Jharkhand, Hon’ble Governer added. She appealed that as responsible citizen we should come forward to make India clean and to develop our way of thinking, accordingly. In Jharkhand every child has potential like Dhoni and Deepika, and credit to CCL for providing these kids with opportunity and resources to harness their potential, she said while admiring CCL’s CSR projects in the field of Sports. She also acknowledged various welfare works of CCL in different fields. CCL should create adopted village into a model, which will act as inspiration for villagers and other corporate houses.

In his welcome address, CMD, CCL Shri Gopal Singh said that the presence of Hon’ble Governor today is inspiring and will motivate us to step up our efforts for creating "Swacch Bharat". It is our honb’le PM who has taken the stride to fulfill the dreams of Father of our Nation i.e. Mahatma Gandhi of “Clean India” and CCL will not leave any stone unturned to achieve this dream, he added with confidence. Shri Singh advised that Cleanliness is a process; it is an idea that needs to be nurtured. Cleanliness should not only be physical but should be ensured at mental level also, through healthier and rational thinking. CCL as a responsible public sector unit is committed to ensure the holistic growth of the society. We are striving towards creating an inclusive society, through our different welfare schemes, which are case studies in themselves, Shri Singh added. He expressed his gratitude towards Hon’ble Chief Minister, Jharkhand Shri Raghubar Das and Hon’ble Coal Minister Shri Piyush Goyal for their guidance to turn the vision of our Hon’ble PM into reality. 

Hon’ble MP (Lok Sabha) Shri Ram Tahal Chaudhary and Hon’ble MLA (Kanke) Dr. Jitu Charan Ram were also present as the special guest of the Carnival. Director (Personnel) Shri R S Mahapatro, Director (P&P) Shri V K Srivastava, Chief Vigilance Officer Shri A K Srivastava, CCL employees, students along with public in large number witnessed the carnival. Later, Hon’ble Governer admistered the "Swacchta Oath" to everyone present during the awareness program. Director (Personnel) Shri R S Mahapatro proposed the vote of thanks.
