International Women's Day observed with full zest in CCL HQ

Today on 8th March 2018, CCL observed International Women's Day, with the theme "Time is Now: Rural and Urban activities transforming women’s lives". The Chief Guest of the function was wife of Chairman Coal India Limited/ CMD CCL Mrs Pramila Singh Guest of Honour / Key Speaker(s) were Major Gurpreet Kaur Sachdeva and Mrs Malvika Sharma, Advocate & Social Activist. To grace the program, W/O Director (Finance) CCL Mrs Rimi Ghosh, W/O Director (Personnel) CCL Mrs Sunita Mahapatra, W/O DT(P&P) CCL Mrs Poonam Mishra, W/O CVO CCL Mrs Nidhi Verma, female employees of CCL Areas, HQ and Gandhinagar Hospital were also present.

On the occasion, Key Speaker of the session Major G K Sachdeva said the only a Day is not enough to celebrate womanhood and to empower women. Major Sachdeva shared her experiences and journey of her life, which encouraged everyone. She urged everyone to follow the path of our inner voice with a positive thinking in life.

Guest of honour of the program, Advocate & Social Activist, Mrs Malvika Sharma, talked about the ‘Butterfly Project’ and asked every women to follow three very important acts in life – To support each other, To ‘change our language’ as a society, To learn to be proud of our daughters as a ‘family’. She asked to make a positive difference in life of each female we come across.

Another Special Guest of the occasion, Sr Advocate Jharkhand High Court, Mrs M M Paul talked about the various legal rights of women in the society and stressed on the right to equality in all spheres of the society.

In the post lunch session of the program, Sri Mangesh Jha, a Social Activist had a discussion on his voluntary Social Work done in a village named Rasbera at Ranchi. He gave a detailed description of the various social welfare initiatives at Rasbera, which includes ‘Ratri Pathshala’, Solar Light Campaign and Menstrual Hygiene Campaign and encouraged the audience to participate in the same.

In today’s program various female employees of CCL were also awarded for their extraordinary contribution towards the company's progress. The event was followed by spectacular cultural programs presented by CCL female employees.

Welcome speech was delivered by Mrs Manjula Sharma, Coordinator WIPS CCL/ General Manager (P-NEE), and Ms Rashmi Dayal, Secretary WIPS CCL/ General Manager (Welfare) proposed the vote of thanks.
