Three Day Rural Football Tournament Concludes

The final matches of Three Day Rural Football Tournament in both boys and girls category were played on Sunday i.e. 27.3.2017 at Nagri, Kanke Block (Ranchi), about 8 kms away from Ranchi City. The final match (Boys) was played between two local teams- Chama and Bukru. It was tough competition as both the team tried their best to clinch the title but Aman Munda from Bukru netted goal for his team showing better co-ordination. In the female category, the final match was played between Little Angel Goa and FC United Kanke. Both the team showcased their better coordination and skills resulting to score of nil each. The outcome was decided in the penalty shootout, wherein FC United Kanke scored 5 against 3 goals of Little Angel Goa to clinch the title.
Chairman-cum-Managing Director, Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) Shri Gopal Singh was the Chief Guest of the match. Director (Pers.) Shri R S Mahapatro graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. Addressing the players and villagers, Shri Gopal Singh said that this tournament has been able to connect the youths of 20 villages in this area. He also threw light on the various welfare of CSR and motivated everyone to take benefit from it to ensure better future for themselves
The three-day tournament had started on 23rd March, 2017. There were 10 boys football teams participated in the rural tournament, while two girls teams represented the female category.
CCL has organized the rural football tournament under its CSR activities with support from local people. It is to be noted that CCL has set up 250 football teams in its command areas and its captains are brand ambassador of CCL. General Manager (CSR) Shri Uday Shankar, Manager Shri Alok Gupta and others are playing key role in organizing the much-awaited tournament.
