With The message of "Save Himalaya, Save Water, Save Life", CMD CCL flag off mountaineering expedition to Mt. Yunum

Shri Gopal Singh, CMD, Central Coalfields Limited flagged off Rock and Rope Adventures Mountaineering Team, which will scale the heights of Mt. Yunum (20,072 feet), situated in Himachal Pradesh. Shri Gopal Singh presented cheque of Rs.1, 00,000/-to the mountaineering team at CCL headquarters. 

On this occasion, Shri P K Tiwari Director (Technical/Operation), Shri R S Mahapatro, Director (Personnel), Shri D K Ghosh, Director (Finance) Shri Subir Chandra, Director (P&P), Shri Arbind Prasad, Chief Vigilance Officer, CGM/GMs, HODs from headquarters and large number of employees were present to grace the occasion.  

Addressing the gathering, CMD Shri Gopal Singh gave best wishes to the mountaineering team and said that this expedition is very commendable and source of inspiration to the youths of the country. Sri Singh said that we need to identify such youth and extend our support to them, which will help the Society and Country to progress. He added that CCL has always supported such talents and initiatives and will continue to do so in future. He reiterated CCL’s commitment for holistic development of the society and the weaker section. 

On this occasion Guinness book record holder Colonel Dr Rajesh Singh thanked CCL for supporting these kind of endeavor. He said that we all should ignite the spirit of adventure in us.  

This is the second mountaineering expedition of this team with support of CCL. The mountaineering team will be lead by Sri Ravi Raj and other members of the team are Aditya Kumar, Khuswant Singh and Santosh Kumar Sinha from CCL. The group will start its expedition on 8th September and on reaching Mt Yunum, it will clean garbage from the cliff. This time there target is to clean and collect near 500 letters of garbage, with this they will give the message of “Save Himalaya, Save Water, Save Life” and will translate their goal of “Leave No Trace Behind”  

Last year this mountaineering team with support of CCL had collected 80 ltr of garbage from Mt Gagstan and become a part of Prime Minister’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Through these missions, “Rock and Rope Adventure Group” not only send across the message of cleanliness but also environment conservation.
