Kayakalp Academy for employment
Area- Headquarter, Posted on- 17-08-2016
Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) has been following hon’ble Prime Minister’s Mantra of “Reform, Perform and Transform”. We have been emphasizing on substance over symbolism, integrated development over isolated development and empowerment over entitlement. In recent year’s Transparency, Ethics and Philanthropy have been the buzz words in CCL. We have been trying hard to bring a qualitative and positive change in the lives of people living in CCL command area. Inspired by our hon’ble Prime Minister to turn SWARAJ into SURAJYA, we have taken a number of initiatives. We have succeeded in our plans, which are reflected by the cooperation CCL is receiving from all the stakeholders.
Kayakalp Academy for employment is an initiative to bring destitute children from the age group of 6-14 of poor families into mainstream by providing them free education in special school constructed, operated and maintained by CCL. These students will be given education in English medium from the very start and will also be given coaching for Engineering, Medical, Civil Services, Polytechnic etc, once they reach 11th standard as per their interest and aptitude. The main motto of this academy is:
1. To provide education in English Medium to the children from lowest strata of the society who would have not thought of it in even in their dreams. All this facilities will be provided free of cost to these children.
2. The Passed out students should be educated and skilled to be employed or self-employed and financially independent.
Child labor is an enormous challenge in the current scenario, as millions of children are affected by it due to financial or social reason. The Right of Child for Free and Compulsory Education Act or Right to Education (RTE) is an act of Parliament of India enacted on 4th August 2009, which describes the modalities of free and compulsory education to children between the age group of 6-14 years in India under Article 21 A of the Indian Constitution. Hence, in view of the existing scenario, CCL will provide free education to such destitute children, who have not been provided with their academic rights due to financial and social constraints as its moral responsibility.
CCL as a responsible corporate citizen is committed for upliftment of the downtrodden and continuously striving for the holistic development i.e. inclusive growth of society and country both through its CSR schemes. Thus, this initiative will help in mainstreaming that part of population which is the future of the nation by providing them basic facility of education, boarding and inculcating within them social and cultural values along with academic inputs. This Kayakalp Academy for employment will not only provide education but also develop feeling of self respect and dignity in them.
The project will be implemented by CCL through construction of School at Kamde, Ranchi. Along with the development of school, CCL will be responsible for operation, maintenance and management of the school through skilled staff appointed especially for this purpose. Identification drives will be initiated to identify the Target Groups i.e. Destitute Children of the age group of 6-14 residing in and around the command areas of CCL and other rural parts of Jharkhand like villages in and around the campus at Kamde by a dedicated team will be appointed to implement the above project to achieve the desired goal.
At present, in the first phase, around 60 children have been identified for providing education along with a stay arrangement at Gandhinagar colony and classroom facility at Security Training Institute, Gandhinagar have been made. CCL aims to increase the number of such students up to 2000 for providing free education in future.
CCL has also planned to build Old Age Home, Orphanage and Training Center in the along with the academy in phased manner. This will be one of the first of its kind in not only Jharkhand but country also. The details of the Kayakalp Academy for Employment will be available on CCL’s official website www.centralcoalfields.in in few days.
